Kuala Lumpur – A cross-border technology exchange successfully took place this morning through the active facilitation and coordination of ProppyApp. Led by ProppyApp Chief Executive Officer Dr Max Chen, the ProppyApp delegation accompanied representatives from Zhejiang University on an official visit to MIMOS, Malaysia’s national applied research and development centre. The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions on artificial intelligence (AI), academia-industry collaboration, technology commercialisation, and industrial innovation, marking another significant milestone in strengthening technology cooperation between Malaysia and China. The visit concluded with a commemorative gift exchange, symbolising friendship and the beginning of a new chapter of collaboration.
During the meeting, Dr Jiang Fengbing, representative of Zhejiang University, highlighted that as technology continues to advance rapidly, the successful real-world application of frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence that integrates Eastern wisdom and humanistic values will become a key direction for future technological development. He further revealed that Zhejiang University and MIMOS have reached a consensus to deepen strategic cooperation and will continue to expand collaboration across multiple disciplines and sectors to jointly establish an international innovation partnership platform.
Professor Dr Ahmad Nizar, Chief Executive Officer of MIMOS Academy, together with Mr Azhar, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI), welcomed the opportunity to strengthen collaboration between Zhejiang University and MIMOS. They expressed their commitment to working together in academic research, product innovation, technology validation, talent development, and commercialisation, with a focus on strategic sectors including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, renewable energy, and the green economy to accelerate technological innovation and industrial transformation.
During the exchange, Dr Max Chen, Chief Executive Officer of ProppyApp, introduced ProppyApp as Malaysia’s first AI-powered digital ecosystem integrated with the national MyDigital ID trusted digital identity framework. He shared that ProppyApp is committed to building a trusted digital ecosystem that connects government agencies, research institutions, universities, businesses, and communities. He emphasised that the exchange not only successfully established an important collaboration bridge between Zhejiang University and MIMOS, but also demonstrated ProppyApp’s pivotal role in connecting international research resources, facilitating cross-border technology partnerships, and accelerating the commercialisation of research outcomes.
Dr Max Chen further emphasised that ProppyApp will continue leveraging its strengths as an international technology collaboration platform by fostering partnerships between Malaysia and leading global universities, research institutions, and industry partners. Through these initiatives, ProppyApp aims to accelerate the local adoption of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, drive Malaysia’s digital economy and innovation ecosystem, strengthen regional and international collaboration, and further enhance Malaysia’s global competitiveness in science, technology, and innovation.
